I was wondering if anyone has had an issue with Storyline 2 content playing in the Cornerstone LMS. It's taking quite a while for our content to load and play. Are there settings we should be adjusting/turning off in Storyline?
We've created a ton of stuff in Storyline 2 and posted it to Cornerstone. We've got videos, sounds, and all kinds of media in some of our courses. It seems to work OK for us.
The first thing I would recommend is upload the exact same course to SCORM Cloud and see if there is a difference in load time. (It's free for testing.)
Another option would be to try loading the course from Cornerstone while you are at home or on another internet connection besides the work one. See if that tells you something about the quality of the internet connection you are having at work.
You can also check your settings in the publish dialog (jump down to section 4) and maybe you have your media quality set too high? If you max out all the quality settings, you'll get larger files which will always take longer to download.
Storm Cloud was extremely fast compared to our Cornerstone instance...in CSOD, the wheel spins for at least 10-15 seconds before the first page loads and these are relatively small files (between 2 and 6MB zipped).
One thing I'm having my team test is to remove the HTML5 option and republish. We're using IE 9, and I'm wondering if it's searching for or trying to use the HTML5 content (which I hear it doesn't support very well).
I don't imagine it's searching for the HTML5 output as the Storyline output will determine which version to show the user based on how they're accessing the course (browser, tablet, etc.). As long as you're pointing to the story.html file that'll let Storyline take over. Since it was faster in SCORM Cloud, it may also be Cornerstone that is slow at loading - did you check if they recommend any particular browsers?
Thanks Ashley - we only saw minimal improvements when we removed the HTML5 option, so we're on the phone with Cornerstone to see what's happening on their side.
Thanks Goddard for the update - and please feel free to keep us posted here in the thread. I know I've seen lots of folks mention using Cornerstone and so the more information we have the better.

Hi Goddard! Looks like John has popped in to assist you here :)
Thanks John,

IE9 does not have good HTML5 support, that is true. You can always try with another browser too, just to see if that makes a difference.
Best of luck!

Hi Goddard,
We're having similar issues, did you ever find a solution?
