Storyline 3: Media in Marker (Label)

Dec 08, 2023

I am currently working on a file in SL3. I have added media (a picture) to labels. Every label has a different picture. I have also added the "Zoom Picture" effect to most pictures. However, when in Preview, I click on the marker, the picture shows the carrot image for all labels. When I click on it to zoom picture, it is the correct picture I input. When I am working on the slide (not in preview) everything appears as intended.

Carrot was the first marker I created on the slide, not sure if that has something to do with it??

Also, I did not add "zoom picture" to asparagus, and that marker works as intended.

My other question is, is it possible to change the size of the picture that is in the label? When I click on the picture, under the Picture Tools tab, the width and height settings are greyed out - locked.

Any insight/advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hello Allison,

I'm sorry to hear that you ran into this snag. I can confirm that I was able to replicate the behavior in Storyline 3 and Storyline 360, and I was able to match it to a known issue that we are currently tracking where duplicated markers show the same zoomed out picture, when more than one of them have inserted images with the zoom picture turned on.

The fix is to add markers one at a time instead of using "Copy + Paste" to add more markers. I can confirm that using the "Insert -> Marker" functionality each time you need to add a marker allows the markers to display their corresponding images correctly. I've attached a sample file so you can verify if this fix will work for you as well.

As for changing the size of the picture in the label, you can first increase the size of the label area, click on the image, and then finally 'click and drag' on the white boxes that appear to increase the size of the image:

Hope this helps!
