I have been following a guide to report my various variables (user downloaded QRG 1=yes, 0=no, etc.) for a while. It doesn't seem to work. I follow the steps exactly.
1) Create survey slide
2) Link variable from external slide to survey slide, setting short answer or numeric entry = to variable (it's always a 1 or 0)
3) Report survey slide to results slide
4) Report results slide to LMS
No dice, I just cannot, cannot, cannot, get any survey data reported this way into the LMS.
Reporting a numeric variable to a short answer or another survey slide, isn't something that Storyline is set to handle. If you'll only be using a 1 or a 0, could you look instead at adjusting a True/False question type based on the variable value? You could easily report that to your LMS and set the score for each answer to a 1 or a 0.
Also, you may want to look at the methods in this much older discussion on how to set up something similar with Javascript.
In my experience it doesn't matter which type of variable I use. True/False, Numeric, Text, etc. The result is always the same. It provides a count of everyone that took the course not WHO got it false/true, 0/1, yes/no, etc.
Very interesting. Does it show you who answered what? For example can that report show you Response (Correct Answer) = True, or say 01, or say a free form reply.
That report is of my user and these were survey questions where the user answered True for each one, but there is no correct answer since it's a survey.
Response (correct answer) = t ()
Is that what you were asking? You can take a look at SCORM Cloud for testing as well if needed.

Thanks for further explaining what you would like to see, Justin.
This may be a reporting limitation of your LMS. Have you uploaded your content to SCORM Cloud for some comparison testing?
I have a sample course with 3 questions and I am able to pull data for a user and see the individual responses:
