You can read more about compatibility here. If you have a Storyline 2 license as well, you can actually have both versions installed on the same computer and use as needed.

Storyline 3 projects can’t be opened or edited with Storyline 2. You can read more about compatibility here.
If you have a Storyline 2 license as well, you can actually have both versions installed on the same computer and use as needed.
