Storyline Anomaly - Hidden Retry Button Appears on Success Layer

Hello All - New to this product and community. I have developed a quiz with a results slide that should display a Retry button if score is less than 80% and display an Exit-Receive Credit button if learner scores greater than 80%. Both buttons are on base layer and triggers set to hide respective button depending on score. Here is the anomaly : Buttons and triggers seemingly work fine on initial attempts, but after multiple failures followed by successful completion the supposedly hidden Retry button alone appears on the Success layer preventing learner from receiving credit and exiting course. Any ideas on a quick fix? Thank you for your time - DanC

Check the logic in your triggers. Are you explicitly hiding the Retry button when the timeline begins, and then dispalying the Exit button if the score percent is over 80%?
Hello Michael : Yes - Hiding Button 1 (Retry) and only displaying Button 2 (Exit) if passing (Was:80% now 85%).
Attached is associated Trigger code. Retested and after 2 failed attempts success layer displays only Retry button. Many thanks for your input and time.
I'm sorry, I didn't get an email that you replied. Try assigning all of your "Timeline starts" triggers to the slide rather than to the buttons themselves.
Thank you so much for your assistance on this issue. I will try your suggestion tomorrow and let you know how things turn out.
Hello Michael, I assigned all button triggers to the Results slide as suggested. After testing multiple pass / fail scenarios, the fix appears to work. Additionally, by gleaning from other related posts I embedded the respective buttons directly on the Success / Failure layers instead of the base layer. This appears to work as well. I definitely appreciate your expedient help as the project is slated to be published tomorrow. No pressure here - Thank you and be safe out there -DanC
It took me a little while to figure that one out the first time it happened to me, so I'm glad to hear it helped you too. I'm not sure why the triggers behave that way, but it's nice just to have an easy fix sometimes and not dig too far into the "why". Yes, I always try to leave the buttons on their default layers, as that seems to work well and can be less confusing.
