I have been working from a template downloaded from this site. When I preview the "clicks" in Storyline it works fine. The problem is when I publish it. None of the interactions work in any browser - IE, Firefox or Chrome. Normally I publish for the web and post the html5 file.

You mentioned you normally publish for Web and post the HTML5 file, but you'll actually want to use the URL for the story.html file. That link should work in these supported browsers.
