Storyline-generated xAPI statements

Mar 17, 2023

I am using xAPI in a project for the first time. I've set up a custom xAPI statement using the Interacted verb, and have added a time variable to the xAPI statement. When I use Freeform questions, specifically hotspots and text entry, the custom Interacted statement does not appear in the LRS. I've tried changing the order of triggers to no avail. I'm using the xAPI Statement Viewer in Cornerstone On Demand as the LRS, and trying to find out if it's Storyline or if it's Cornerstone. My file is attached.

Also, is there a list of "canned" statements that Storyline generates with information on when they are used? Any help you can give me with this would be greatly appreciated!!

This morning, I exported the xAPI data to Watershed and got the same results. The custom xAPI statements with the Interacted verb and time did not show. And while I realize that the Left verb also generates time, Cornerstone does not recognize the Left verb. (See attached Watershed results.)

Hi Mary,

Thanks for reaching out about this!

I understand that you are having an issue using the "Interacted" verb in your custom xAPI statement. Have you tested your course in SCORM cloud? It's an online LMS environment that can be used to figure out whether the issue is with the LMS or the Story file. If you test your course on SCORM cloud and it works perfectly, then your issue is LMS based.

Also, here is an article listing the verb types and their descriptions and custom xAPI statements.
