Storyline - how do I remove slide numbers from the menu?

Sep 26, 2013

Hi all!

I could be repeating this conversation, but having looked on the forum, I cannot seem to find an answer to how you 'remove' the 'slide' numbers in the menu.

I'm happy for the 'scene' numbers to appear e.g. 1, 2, 3, but I would like to remove the 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc...

My reason for this is because I have duplicate titles, so where I have removed some titles from, say, my first scene (1) in the menu, I now see 1.1, 1.4, 1.6 etc... which isn't very consistent to the viewer. So how do I remove the 1.1, 1.4, 1.6 numbering entirely and just keep the scene numbers? Can this be done?

P.S. the 'Number entries in the menu automatically' field is switched off.

Yes, but then I wouldn't have numbering at all. We have a large course that, while it is in need of numbering, does not need the complexity of showing decimals to the degree in which Storyline displays them. ie. 3.3.1

Is there a way to reduce the complexity of the decimals without manually inputting numbers in the menu?

Hi Catherine,

Unfortunately there isn't a way to change it from decimals or not, as I mentioned it's set up that way to indicate scene and then slide. I am not sure of another way to change the numbering, and depending on your level of comfort with Flash coding, you may be able to do something with the Storyline SDK to create your own customized menu and player.
