Storyline Test-Mode Screen recording customization?
Jul 28, 2016
Hey, I'm using Storyline 2 to on-board members of another department to a new software we're implementing. I was wondering if there was an option to select my own points on screen record where I wanted the test-mode to react. I'm having a bit of difficulties right now. I have a slide where the action is simple: The user has to sign out and click 'OK' to confirm. The problem I'm running into is after the user clicks the Logout button, the 'OK' button pops up to confirm but I get a 'Incorrect' message. The software is not recognizing confirming the action as another step.
My question is, is there any way I can select my own points to test the users on with the screen recording? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Jamoni -- Thanks for reaching out, and perhaps if you have a file you can share, that may help others better understand what you are hoping to accomplish?
The actual storyline I'm working on? I'm sorry for the late reply.
Hi, Jamoni! Yes, I was wondering if you might be able to share your .story file or an example, since based on your description, I am not aware of a method to suggest for what you have in mind, but perhaps your fellow community members could take a look and weigh in with additional ideas.
Alright. I'm attaching the storyline I'm working on. There's a section about logging on and logging off and I wanted the users to try it themselves, but Articulate isn't recognizing each individual step as its own thing. It only recognizes the action of clicking 'Logoff' not clicking 'OK' to confirm.
Just wanted to pop in and link this thread to another where Christie and Jamoni are working together.
Thanks again for sharing your file here, Jamoni, and as I am not familiar with options for the type of customization you are hoping to achieve, I will need to defer your peers to offer their advice.
Hi Jamoni! It may be helpful to let us know what slide you are experiencing difficult with as well. I tried to take a look, but I'm not sure.
