Subtitle (direction of reading)

Jan 11, 2021

Hello, eveyone!

I have subtitles in Hebrew with direction of reading from LTR, but I need it to be from RTL. Where can I change that?

Hello Salo!

I'm happy to help! Are you adding subtitles, or captions, to audio/video in Storyline 360?

Have you typed the subtitles in the Caption Editor, or did you import the captions?

I've tested this on my end, and I see the text displayed properly. Here's my test. You'll want to use the language preferences in Windows settings to set up multiple languages.

Hi Martin,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! ✨

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing an issue with subtitles reading from right to left. Since this post is a bit older, I'd like to ask a few clarifying questions.

  • Which language are you using? As Lauren mentioned above, you'll want to use the language preferences in Windows settings to set up multiple languages.
  • Did you import captions or have you tried typing them in the caption editor?

I'll be happy to take a look at your project if you feel comfortable posting it here or privately in a support case. We will delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete!

Hi Kelly, thank you for the reply.

I solved the problem by modifying the RTL from Unicode of the SRT with Subtitle Edit.

So this problem is no longer an emergency for me.

I'll leave you the project so you can take a look, the funny thing is that the subtitle editor in articulate doesn't show me the same thing as the final preview. Prints and the project attached.

The RTL is applied correctly into 2.jpg

This example is segment2 of the audio of slide 1.2.

Thanks in advance!
