I think the problem is in the layers. The timeline item Group1 have a hover and selected state for each part of the group. If the learner clicks the group on the layer, the state of Group 1 on the base layer changes all the items to a selected state.
I just deleted the hover and selected states for each part of the circle on each layer. That seemed to work, see attached
