Text Entry Box shows previously input answers in a dropdown when user clicks to type in the text box

I am making a spelling quiz and using a text entry box on each slide for learners to input their answers. After I have tested the whole activity to check it, if a user goes in to complete the activity my answers appear in a drop down when the user clicks in the text entry box to input their answers. Is there something I have forgotten to disable? I have set each slide to return to initial state on revisit and I am not sure what else I need to do to prevent this from happening.
