Text to speech turning into MP3s and not playing

Nov 30, 2020

Hello,

I'm currently having an issue where I insert a text-to-speech file, do a change on the slide and then it suddently shows as an MP3, without the wavelengths in the timeline section. When this happens, the audio will not play when I publish the presentation. I have to re-insert a new text-to-speech file to fix this.

Is there a way to stop this from happening? Sometimes files do this without me knowing and I would rather not publish a course only to find out a slide did this issue without prompting.

Hi Valerie,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm happy to troubleshoot the text-to-speech feature with you!

First, I'm having difficulty recreating the unresponsive audio in Storyline 360 Update 46. Here's a short recording of the test

To make sure we take the next best step:

  • Working from a shared drive can cause features to break. Let's make sure that you're working on a local hard drive.
  • It sounds like this is impacting multiple files. Let's try repairing Storyline 360 to see if that helps. Here's how.
  • Which browser(s) are you using to view the published output?
