Timeline and exit animations issue
Oct 08, 2019
Hi!
I need help, I'm building interactive training module in Storyline where the user needs to perform a certain amount of actions to make the "NEXT" button available and continue the training course. I've setup Entrance animations & Exit animations on most of the objects to make it look good. My problem is that when the timeline reaches the end, it triggs ON the Exit animation. The user can't take his time to achieve all the actions needed. It happen specially when I use layers. After a certain time, objects fly out of the screen.
FIX FAIL 1 : I've try to stretch the timeline to a longer length but I wish the user will not have to take a break to the washroom or take a coffee... because objects will disappear eventually... :P
FIX FAIL 2: Everything works great without Exit animation.... but it looks less professional/attractive.
Do somebody have suggestion how to solve this problem?
Thanks!

Hi Mat,
Wonder if you could post this part of the module so others could take a look at it.
One thing you might consider is adding a trigger to pause the timeline just prior to the start of the exit animation. Your Next button trigger could then resume the timeline, and you could add a trigger to advance to the next screen at end of timeline. Could do the same sort of thing on the layers, one issue being whether the user is meant to be able to click the Next button or close the layer before the pause is triggered.
Anyway, that's a thought, but it would be helpful to see the actual screens.
Hi David,
Thanks for your answer! This exactly what I did and it works fine! I've triggered pause timeline every slides before the end, and then, triggered resume timeline to skip to next slide. It took time to do on my 30 slides... but I'll be able to copy/ paste for future modules.
Thanks again!
MAT
