Transparency bug causing dark, gray images in software, but the course previews as expected.

Aug 24, 2023

I just updated to v3.79.30834.o. I am experiencing this bug for all images that have transparency applied to them. The image looks as if the brightness is turned down as well when you're working on a slide, but it previews normally. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hi everyone,

I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Build 3.79.30921.0, we've included a couple of fixes.

One of the bugs we've fixed is:

  • Images with transparency appeared darker in the Storyline 360 editor

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!

Hi, Jack and Jurgen!

Thanks for reaching out and I’m sorry you’ve hit this snag!

We can replicate this issue where the transparency of an image appears darker while editing a course in Storyline 360, Build 3.79.30834.0 than in previous versions of Storyline. However, the image displays as expected when the course is published.

Our team is aware that this bug was presented in this update, and we’ll be sure to update this discussion as soon as we have a fix in place!

As a current workaround, you can roll back to an earlier version of Storyline 360. Here's how:
