I like your example, but is there a way to send the email without opening a window? I want an email sent if the user answers a question incorrectly. I am not a developer so I need help with the javascript.
Hello everyone - my project changed and I didn't need the answer to my question a year ago, but now I do... How can I trigger an email without opening up an email window? The learner is presented with a Yes/No question. If he chooses 'No' I want to trigger an email with a pre-populated subject. I can get the email to work fine, but it opens the email for the learner and I'd like it to do all this in the background without the learner seeing anything, or having to take any action.
I am not a developer, so my knowledge is limited. I'd appreciate any ideas!
Hi Deb! This is not something that would be supported by Articulate. Hopefully someone in the community will be able to pop in and assist you here.
I've seen this question posted a couple of times in the forums, such as here and here, and you may be able to reach out to those users for assistance perhaps.
Thanks Leslie. I appreciate you sending links to other solutions.
Unfortunately, Google Docs isn't an option, and I don't have the technical knowledge for PHP - nor anyone to help me. So, I will go forward without it being hidden and see if that is good enough for this project.

Try creating an email trigger like this: "mycompany@xyz.com?subject=My test email&body=this is just a test"
Hello Julie!
Unfortunately adding a subject line to the email trigger is not an available feature with Storyline.
We have seen others with similar questions that could set things up with JavaScript. For information, You can look here: http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/javascript-best-practices-and-examples
As well as here: http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/35501/194301.aspx

MERCI THANKS GEERT
IT S PERFECTLY WORKING
oooo i love this forum.....
Hey, Geert,
Agree with Julie. Very cool. Tx for posting.
Quick Q: did y'all get this to work in IE? I published to Articulate online. When I tested in
Firefox 31.0: A Launch Application Window appeared so I could choose what email I wanted to use. From there it worked perfectly
Chrome (36.0.1985.143 m): Microsoft Outlook email client setup launched...I don't use Outlook so I didn't configure, but I'm sure it would have worked
IE (11.0.9600.17239): the email trigger didn't work...nothing happened when I clicked.
Regarding IE 11, Microsoft calls that a safety feature...
or...an "undocumented feature"
