I am very new to this application. so bear with me. I have two issues trying to apply states and triggers. The first time around, my entire state disappeared and on the second go, my state is not changing at all. I am trying to invert the colors, once the mouse "hovers" over the state.
I am wondering since I have the trial version, that I have limited options.
The trial version works the same as a licensed version.
It's difficult to troubleshoot based on the limited description. For example, what do you mean by "my entire state disappeared"? Did you add a state, but it no longer appears in the States panel? Or is the state not appearing when you Preview?
Best guess about the hover issue: It sounds like you might have added a trigger to change the state when the mouse hovers. But if you add a state called "Hover," it will automatically show on hover. No triggers are needed--and, in fact, adding triggers that duplicate the built-in functions often causes problems. (This also applies to other built-in states, such as Selected and Visited. They have automatic functions.)
When you're having issues with Storyline, it's best to upload a copy of the .story file. That'll make it easier for someone to troubleshoot. Best practices:
Upload a copy that only has the slide(s) involved in the issue.
Be sure objects, layers, and variables have meaningful names.
