Trigger not working in Storyline

I have two triggers for a button. The first jumps to the beginning of a quiz from a button on the Failed results layer. This seems to work fine.

The 2nd trigger I have tried in two ways: 1) to change the state of the button to Disabled when the user clicks the button. 2) to change the state of the button to Hidden when the user clicks the button. These were also set on the Failed results layer. only one at a time.

Neither trigger works when I publish the course. What am I missing? Hope someone can help me!

Are you trying to do this because you don't want a retry button the second go round? You could always just change the quiz to only allow one retry (if that applies at all).

Thanks for your thoughts Jesse.

I want them to have two tries at the test, so after taking the test once and they are linked back to the beginning with a Retry button to begin their second try, I want the button to disappear or not work when they finish the test and if they get the same results screen. This is a certification course that has legal requirements attached to passing it.

If there is a way to limit how many times they take the test, I don't know how to do that.

Any other ideas?
