I am new to Storyline and following along with the beginner tutorials. I get an error message when I try to import the ppt slide that is part of the tutorial exercise. Any suggestions
What's the error message you're receiving? Which Powerpoint are you trying to import and are you using Storyline 1 or Storyline 2? You'll want to make sure that you're following along with the steps here. Here are some additional tips for importing Powerpoint files.
I'm having a similar issue "Failed to import Power Point presentation" ..
I've downloaded a trial ver to evaluate; not sure if it's limited ..
using Office 2007
I've taken all actions as noted in the forum and online .. eg saved ppt as earlier ver, update office, repair office, securities, open PPT prior to import .. all to no avail ..
attached is PPT file ..
your assist is greatly appreciated .. I'd like to utilize Storyline .. but if I can't get past this issue ..
Hi David! I took a brief look and encountered the same error. There may be corruption in your PPT file, as when I imported part of this into a new file - then imported to Storyline, it seemed to work successfully.
You may be able to resolve PowerPoint file corruption in this manner:
Open a new, blank presentation in PowerPoint.
Go to the Home tab, click the drop-down arrow beside New Slide, and choose Reuse Slides.
In the Reuse Slides panel, click the Browse button and choose Browse File.
Browse to your original PowerPoint file and click Open.
At the bottom of the Reuse Slides panel, mark the box to Keep source formatting.
Right-click the first slide in the Reuse Slides panel and select Insert All Slides.

Hi Leslie:
1st THANK YOU for your efforts ..
Unfortunately I cannot emulate your results, whether I re-use all slides or one slide or a completely new ppt w/ just one slide.
What ver of office are you using ?
I have Office 365. Does the .story file that I shared work for you?
Yep .. hmm .. seems it maybe a MS Office version issue
