I'm having trouble saving changes. My story is pretty big, about 16MB, and there are a lots of hotspots other functionalities. The problem is when I make changes and save my file and then I go back through to preview not all the changes are saved. I keep redoing but then something else will revert to the previous order. Is anyone else having these problem and are is there a fix?
I haven't heard of changes not being saved within the preview mode, as you could technically preview without saving the .story file. Since it sounds like odd behavior I'd want to ensure you're following along with these guidelines which will help prevent odd behavior:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
Please let us know if this behavior continues and if it's only occurring on this one file or any Storyline project you're working on.
I have also had problems with saving changes. It feels like Articulate is messing with my head as there doesn't seem to be a pattern to it. I know about not working from a local drive. Will look at the other recommendations from Ashley.
Hi @ Ashley thanks for the reply. The file is on my C drive, the file name is very short and there are no special characters. Any other solutions? This is file was supposed to used for a huge on online project at Stanford with usage by several hundred students but if we can't find a fix we'll have to scrap the use of Articulate. Is it possible that size is an issue? It's 16MB. Or are their features that have trouble working together? Anything else I can try would be greatly appreciated.
16 mb isn't that big of a course, so I can't imagine that overall size would be an issue. I would try to close down any other open programs that may be eating up memory, as Storyline does need a fair amount of memory to publish or save your projects and you'll want to double check the minimum system requirements for running Storyline here.
Could you share your .story file here so that I could take a look at it and try to apply changes to it?
