Whenever I try to reduce the overall height of the answer options box for a quiz question slide, it automatically become super small with a scrolling panel and only displays one line of text. I can drag the box to be wider but if I try and adjust the height it just won't. I need to move the answers lower on the slide but can't as the bottom of the box is already at the bottom of the slide.
Any ideas?! Have attached images to show the issue.
I'm happy to help! I appreciate you sharing both screenshots, as I can see where the scrolling panel appears when resizing the answer choices. I'm not able to recreate this on my end when using a Multiple Response questions slide. Have you tried applying a different layout to see if that does the trick?
If you'd like me to take a look at the project, feel free to attach the .story file to this discussion or upload the file to me directly.
I am having the exact same problem. However, the answer box doesn't reside in the Slide Master. I applied a different layout and then everything broke.
I get a scrolling window on a slide that I can change the width or position but CANNOT change the height.
I see that you've reached out to our Support Engineers, and my teammate, Darrell, is working with you in a support case. We'll continue the conversation in your case so that all the information is in one spot!
I'm not able to apply the fix described above, but I've had this issue through several versions of Storyline and have never found a suitable solution. Anyone? This error drives me absolutely wild.
I'm looking at Tim's case and it looks like it's based on the .story file. Do you mind sharing your .story file with our Support Engineers in a support case?
I'm sorry you've hit this snag; I'm happy to share how the other cases were handled! One of the cases was caused by file corruption and was resolved by importing the slides to a new Storyline project. Can you try doing that and see if it helps?
If the problem persists, another case seems to be related to a bug that we're monitoring with the following description:
The answer box on a graded question slide shrinks and can no longer be resized after applying the Velocity layout
It would be helpful to see your Storyline project file to confirm whether your case falls under this bug report. Do you mind attaching your project to this discussion or privately in a support case? We'll delete it when we're done testing!
Normally I try to work around this bug by not resizing the answers box. However, I just finished writing and formatting a 20-question assessment and when I clicked save, all 20 slides had the answer box shrink. None of the workarounds above are working for me.
This has been a known bug for years. Will it ever be properly addressed?

Go to View Slide Master, right click on Answers text box, click on Format shape then Text Box and under Autofit click radio button for Do not autofit.
I couldn't believe how easy this solution was to a very annoying problem.

THANK YOU! I've been having this issue for the last few months and this did the trick. Who would have thought?!

Hi, Tim.
Great call opening a support case! I see you worked with my teammate Darwin.
If you have additional questions, please reach out through the case!
I am having the same issue. Is there an easy fix?

I'm having this issue with Storyline 360. I tried the Do Not Autofit solution, but it didn't work. I'm not seeing a solution offered by any staff!

Please forgive my frustration.
It would be great to resize the choice boxes on the templates. I did find that they can be resized for the Freeform questions.
