Unexplained smudge appears

Hi,
On one of my slides with animation, a smudge appears with one of the connectors I created. Has anyone seen this before and know how to get rid of this?

Hi Kerstin,
I'm sure you've already checked, but do you have any other layers in your project that might be coming through?

Thanks for your suggestion. I actually don't use layers in my project (except for quizzing, Correct/Incorrect).
I managed to solve the problem by fiddling around with the connector. Made it slightly smaller and the red spot disappeared.
