Updating Text To Speech files in bulk?

Oct 10, 2023

I love the new TTS voices - just wondering if there is a way to update all existing TTS files in a project rather than doing it one by one?

I'm updating a project with over 60 slides in it - all of them have TTS audio. I've updated some select slides with required changes and updated the TTS files to match the new content. Due to the TTS update, the voice on these slides sounds completely different to the rest  of the project. It sounds much better, so I want to update the rest of the project to match.

Is there a quick way of doing this or do I need to individually update every TTS audio file in the project?

Hi Summer!

I see that Phil has been helping you out! I just wanted to pop in and share that we have a feature request logged that would allow authors to update TTS audio across multiple slides at once. I'll include your voice in the feature report and will update this discussion if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap.

Have a great week and happy developing!

While this feature SOUNDS good (pun intended), the new voices do not match the timing of the old voices; you still have to resync your elements on each slide individually. Further, having done several dozen slide updates at this point, it isn't clear what drives the timing change; one screen the TTS in the new voice will be longer, the next shorter. I've also found that even if the overall timing is about the same, the pauses for periods, commas, etc., shift around within the overall time for the same TTS wording.
