Use Variables for Pictures?
Oct 17, 2013
Has anyone tried or been able to accomplish recalling a graphic by using variables? I'm trying to accomplish the same outcome as you can with the name variable where if you input your name the person's name carries through out the module. In this case it would be the graphic that the user chooses would carry through.
Anyone know if this is possible? Attached is the source file I'm playing around with.
Thanks

Have a look at the attached file. On slide1, I set a variable, based on the character selected. On slide2, I change the state of the CharacterSelector object, based on the variable. Hope that gets you started.
Wow, thank you a million Michael!
This is exactly what I was wanting.
Hi Adam! Looks like Michael has a great starter for you here.
I like that Michael Thanks for sharing!
Posting at the same time too...glad that works for you Adam and thanks for the update
ha..Maybe you can help me with this Leslie. To build off of the file posted above by Michael, now I'm trying to figure out how to change the pose of the people from slide to slide.
So for example after selecting the character instead of having the same pose of the person being used throughout is there a way to on one slide show the full figure pose of them searching then the next slide a torso pose where they look upset?
Sorry for jumping in. Of course you can change the poses/expressions of the four characters, simply by editing the states of the CharacterSelect object I had originally created on slide 2. These states are just bitmaps and you can change then to whatever you like.
No apologies needed for helping out! I appreciate it Michael and I'm sure that Adam does as well
Hi and thanks again Michael...I did end up figuring it out, just took me some time playing around with it.
Sounds great Adam! Thanks for the update
