Using a Question Bank but Try Again layer not triggering to repeat question until correct

Oct 14, 2022

I am using a question bank to randomize my quiz questions.

Each quiz question slide has a Correct layer and a Try Again layer.
I want to require the user to retry each question until they get it correct, THEN they can move on to the next question.

Right now, the questions randomize fine, and when the user chooses an incorrect answer, they are taken to the Try Again layer, but when they click on the Try Again Button, they are taken to a different question.

I tried setting a trigger on the Try Again layer to "Jump to slide-this slide-when user clicks Try Again Button". The only option is to jump to previous slide or next slide.

My question is: is there a way to set this so that the user must continue trying the question until correct, when using a question bank, and NOT allow them to proceed to the next question until they get it correct?

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for reaching out!

Based on your requirement, you can try setting the number of attempts for your questions to unlimited, to give your learners an unlimited number of tries to answer your questions correctly. You can check out this article to know how to change the number of allowed attempts per question:

If you need further assistance after setting the number of attempts for your questions to unlimited, reach out to our support team here. If you're willing, feel free to share a copy of your project file in the support case, so we can take a look at how your question slides are setup.

Hi Joe! Thank you for your response! I actually had it set at unlimited attempts, but that did not solve the problem.

What is interesting is that when I create the same question slides, triggers, etc., but without a question bank, it works just fine.

I'll reach out to support to see if there is something else I am missing. Thank you again for your help!
