using quiz timer for presentation timer - will it pause?

I know one of the work arounds to get past the lack of a presentation timer is to use a quiz timer (i've seen the blog post/tutorial).

However, if the customer 

a) pauses the course  OR

b) reaches the end of the time line on the slide,

will the timer pause?  is it possible to set a variable for the timer to pause?

Hi Tom,

Within Storyline the quiz timer, is for the entire course - so if you reach the end of a slide timeline, nothing would change. Pausing the slide timeline using the seekbar does not pause the timer either. 

There is not a way to use a variable to impact the built in Storyline timer, but you may want to look at creating your own custom timer.
