Hi, Monisha - Thank you for your question. To the best of my knowledge, all videos played on iPhones pop out into a separate window, and there is not a way to adjust your .story project to address that functionality. Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions or concerns!
Christie is correct - it's by design for the iPhone, and if you've published an Articulate Storyline course with HTML5 output and find that an embedded video doesn't play at all on an iPhone, it's likely that the dimensions of the video exceed the iPhone's capacity. See the following iPhone tech specs for the maximum supported video dimensions:
If you need to avoid this behavior, we recommend viewing courses with videos on larger screens, such as iPads, laptops, and desktop computers. Or, create a simplified version of the course that doesn't include videos for iPhone users.
I have developed a simple single-slide with a small video, published to HTML5 and it will not play on an iPhone 5. I've looked at the above links and they seem useless ..... they do not tell you what you should be setting the Storyline Screen size to if it's to large. What should the Articulate screen size be ??
The dimensions of the iphone screens are listed in those links, and based on the player elements you're also going to add to your course it'll depend - but I wouldn't go above those iPhone screen dimensions. You may also want to use the chart here.
I have found out that this is an issue with Iphones since all the videos in the browser would play separately; however, i just found the following link on which they address the issue, would it be possible to add this functionality in my development/ course perhaps in the output

Mobile Safari automatically scales videos to fit the screens of smaller devices, such as iPhones. (See Apple's developer documentation for details.)

Thanks so much.
Hi Monisha,
Thanks for sharing that here - and you can read our documentation of the issue here as well.
