When inserting a step-by-step screen recording, you may find that only the first slide (step) gets added to your Articulate Storyline course. This issue can affect any step-by-step mode (View, Try, or Test) when the application you're recording is using different security permissions than Storyline.
For example, let's say you're using Storyline to record a process in Microsoft Excel. If Excel is configured to run as an administrator and Storyline isn't—or vice versa—you may encounter the issue described above.
To correct it, ensure that both applications are using the same permissions. To check Storyline:
Navigate to the following folder, depending on your version of Microsoft Windows:
If the box is marked to Run this program as an administrator, make sure the same box is marked for the application you're recording. If it's unchecked, make sure it's also unchecked for the application you're recording.
If the issue persists after verifying that both applications are using the same security permissions, reboot your computer to resolve the conflict.
Hope that helps and please let us know if you need anything else!
