Visited states not working on branching scenario

Dec 31, 2022

I need help getting my visited states to work once the user clicks on each rectangle on slide 1.7. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I can't get it to show the gray visited state. The user must go back to this main slide (1.7) after clicking each of the three rectangles. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello Carla Dalfonso, on slide 1.7, I was first able to resolve the problem by adjusting the slide's "when revisiting" settings to resume saved state, and it then functioned properly.

But I also discovered that until the timeline is over, the buttons are not clickable. Is this intended to work in this way?

I inserted rectangles and added the same triggers to them because the buttons weren't initially clickable.

Please ensure that the slide triggers in your file match those in the SL file that is attached.

Hi Sandeep. Thank you for your help. The buttons are supposed to not be clickable until the timeline is over. When I change the property of the slide to "resume saved state" it won't allow me to go back to the slide and click on the other rectangles. It only shows visited for the one I went to first and the others are disabled. I am attaching a picture for you.

I was able to resolve the issue that you mentioned, and I have included your updated SL file.

This is what I did: at first, I didn't have a clear look at the triggers that you assigned to the clickable rectangles' state change. To alter the default states for a particular object, you don't need to provide additional triggers. Therefore, I erased the previous visited state and disabled all undesirable triggers before creating a new visited state. Additionally I set the slide properties to resume saved state.

Also, I placed a transparent rectangle on top of the rectangles in order to prevent the user from clicking until the audio has been completed. The rectangle disappears once the audio has been completed.

Now it functions as you would expect.

Please review the updated SL file attached and let me know what you think.
