*Freebie* Word Search + Quiz
Dec 15, 2015
I have created a word search with a twist. Although the answers in this example are easy to guess for Heroes, the idea is that the quiz answer should be triggered or confirmed by the word search (a little more effort for the user).
The example counts the number of correct answers but it could easily be enhanced by a timer or simply record the number of answers given (leaving the score until the end).
In a fully worked product for a client I included a hint button to assist users who were stuck and not prepared to progress without a score. You could impose a deduction to the running total if you wanted to inhibit users inclined to use the hint button with gay abandon of course!
I decided not to provide immediate feedback but save that until quiz completion so that the user's answer can be compared with the correct answer.
The demo page link below provides a breakdown of the production process.

And a template is available here if this doesn't make it into the downloads on this site.

Very cool, Sam -- thanks so much for sharing, and to make your contribution available to even more of the community, you may want to include "FREEBIE" in the title and post over in the Building Better Courses forum, as well. :)
Thanks Christie have done both,
This is cool. You should add highlights over the words as you submit then.
Thanks Daniel. I decided against immediate feedback to allow for an occasion when a user may not get the answer right. I opted for feedback at the end of the quiz instead. Either option works.
Hey Sam,
where could I find your example? Demo Link is not working anymore
Hi Sofia,
I'm not sure if Sam is still subscribed here. You are welcome to reach out to the user directly via the 'Contact Me' option on the user profile if you do not hear back soon.
Hi Sofia, I'm sorry but I'd unsubscribed so didn't see your post. The demos were on my old website. The demo is now on my new website here. However, it's in Flash format .... I must get around to updating it (and others) then I'll redo the links above.
