Anyone have suggestions about where I can get free graphics that do not have royalty or legal entanglements with them? Earlier this week I could still use Microsoft Office Clip Art for at least some of them...today it's totally changed and not a good resource.

Agree, majority of clip art is licensed by Microsoft from third parties for personal use of it users only.Tthey cannot transfer a commercial license as they never purchased one.

As Phil says - only for personal use.
Anyone using these to create learning on a commercial basis is in breach of copyright, (and having read it at least twice, it is a very comprehensive copyright statement!).
Very little on the web is "free". If Diane is producing commercially, (and we do not know from the post...), then she needs a new way, and it will ultimately be a cost that has to be borne by her business.

Look at this thread for details to find free graphics for elearning courses. Just ignore anything relating to free images from Microsoft in it.
