Active New Icon after the first Icon have been Clicked

Feb 05, 2018

Hi everyone, thought I'd reach out and see if someone can help me. I've built a course in storyline 360.

I have created 6 icons and I want them to be active after user visited or clicked on the fisrt icon then the second icon will be clickable and then so on.

Can someone help me to come out of the above issue?

Here I am sharing my .story file please have a look let me know.

Thanks,

Hi Apoorv

see attached update to your file.

I created a visited state for the oval in icon 1 (you'll need to duplicate for the other icons)

I added a transparent shape over icons 2 - 5 so they can't be clicked. On layer 1, add a trigger to change the state of icon 2 overlay to hidden - repeat this on each layer so it unlocks each icon as you go.

Hope that helps.

Hello Wendy,

Thanks for your positive response. Actually, my problem is, I have 5 icons.

4 icon is for normal sides (1 interaction and 3 videos), and 1 icon is for quiz interaction.

Now I want the user to first see all the 4 icons then only he/she can see or click on the quiz button.

Here I am sharing my .story file, after making some changes, please have a look let me know.

Please help me in this.

Thanks,

Apoorv

I think your best bet is to edit the states of the ovals to add a "disabled" state to each and make the initial state for ovals 2 - 5 "disabled".  That way only the first oval is clickable.  Add your trigger to show video 1 when Oval one is clicked and triggers to the video to return to slide 1.1 and to change the state of oval 2 to "normal" when the media completes.  Then repeat this for Ovals 3 - 5

Hope this helps

Hi Apoorv,

Unfortunately, I can't edit your file as I have Storyline 2. However, allow me to walk you through your issue. If your main goal is to make sure that learners progress through Icons 1-5 in ascending order, change the initial state of Icons 2, 3, 4, and 5 to "Disabled" through the states menu.

Then, add a trigger to Icon 2 that states, "Change State of Icon 2 to 'Normal' when State of Icon 1 is 'Visited'. Then do the same thing with Icons 3, 4, and 5. The only Icon that should have an initial state of Normal is Icon 1 since you want that to be your first clickable icon.

Does that make sense?
