I am looking for reasonably priced audio recording devices that I can give to SME's to record the audio track for the courses I am developing. After reading the audio import discussions, it appears that devices that produce .wav files are probably the way to go for importing into Storyline. Does anyone have suggestions on said devices that they would be willing to share. I would prefer devices that did not hook into computers. Thanks!
I might suggest that you look at some of the newer digital voice recorders such as the Zoom and Tascam brands. The quality may not be quite as good as having a good microphone attached to a computer, but they are certainly super portable and easy for an SME to use. Here's a good comparison video.
I'd also recommend the Zoom H1. Its long battery life and high quality sound make it a great portable recording device. I used the Zoom for recording a group discussion and the sound quality on playback was excellent.
