Avoiding the fatigue in fatigue management training

Greetings from Australia. I am looking for any great ideas to jazz up a mandatory fatigue management training course. Any ideas, suggestions and links will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there Diana!

Thank you so much for posting here in the community. One way that I always suggest to make content more engaging and interesting for learners is by incorporating scenarios into your courses. They can be done in either Rise 360 using the new Scenario Block, or they can be created in Storyline 360 by using some simple background images, characters, and text entry boxes. So maybe you can consider thinking of some scenarios about fatigue, what could happen if people are fatigued, what are the consequences, present some realistic scenarios regarding fatigue and the materials you're covering in your training. I think bringing it to life with some scenarios and characters could really make it more fun for your learners!! Hope this helps :)

Hi, Diana:

Piggybacking on Nicole's ideas (and not for the first time), I might begin with "averting a disaster scenario." A fatigued person getting into some nasty situation, because, well, they are FATIGUED, and then allowing the learner to go back in time and help the fatigued person so they don't end up in that nasty situation.

Of course, you'd have to script a good chunk of the course around this story, but it'll likely be more interesting than what most people do. Creativity and clear writing is what's needed most. The nasty bit can imagined. One example, video clip of FATIGUED PERSON working with a large machine in the factory (some audio effects to make it real), FATIGUED PERSON gets too close to machine and....black shape with sparse, dramatic text on it fades on-screen, explains the NASTY that just happened. Maybe some ambulance sounds in the background.
