Freelance Documentation

Hello Community.

I am Graphic designer in e-Learning industry I have 7+ yrs of experience. I am working on storyline over 2.5 yrs. Now I’ve quit my job and started full-time freelance work.

So started reading many discussions on this community

Freelance Heroes and Freelancers where do you find most of your work

These two links are the most useful, but over the years reply count on these posts is so huge that it will take weeks to complete reading them. Also some old link on initial pages of these post are now broken.

I’ve just got one potential client, and we started our project. For now we managed some documentation. But few documents are new to me and I still need to work on these.

Below are these:

1. Few clients I’ve got from my other contacts, they ask for rate card.
   How this document should be? And
   what detail in it should be?
2. To bid on outsourcing sites like elance.com
   how I write effective proposals?
3. I am in process of building my portfolio for online presence. I am planning to use wordpress.com for my portfolio. Is that OK? Or I should have my own website for better impact.

I googled for proposal and rate card documents but there is nothing related to eLearning development. Ca anybody share some dummy documents. I know I am asking your intellectual document that no one shares. But I just want to know how these documents should be in relation with eLearning and don’t want any specific details.
