How to Include Recorded Panelists?

Oct 26, 2011

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a suggestion and I am hoping someone can help!

Here is what I want to do-

I want to hold a panel where I can view 5 people via webcam on my screen. I want to pose questions and have them answer them. I want to then record the session to be used as a training for new employees. This session would be about 60 minutes.

Seems easy, right?

Well- here is what I did-

Gotomeeting now allows you to have 6 people on webcam at once with audio. So, I conducted a panel and everything went smoothly. I asked questions, people answered, etc. It was great.  However, I recorded the panel using camtasia (to capture the screen) and half way through the audio turns to a very, very loud static.

As you can imagine, I am completely disappointed. I did this panel as a training for new hires and it didn't work. Not to mention the money wasted on having to pay the panelists for a training that I cannot use.

Please help!

Another work around might be to write down a list of possible questions, some would be the same for each panelist.  You might then record each panelist individually in Skype and then use a video editing software to bring them all together on one screen.  It may be a bit of editing, but if your simultaneous panel idea doesn't fly then, this might be a workaround.  You would also lose the interplay of a live panel.  But, just giving a thought.
