How to merge two Easy Generator SCORM files into one course in Articulate

Feb 22, 2024

Hi everyone.

I have two SCORM files for the same course in 2 languages: one SCORM for an English version and one SCORM for a German version. Both courses were made in Easy Generator. Now my organization switched to Articulate license.

Question: is there a way to use Articulate to merge these two SCORM files into one course, where a user will be able to pick a language?

I will appreciate if anyone can share their experience. High-level search does not provide information about such functionality. Thank you.

Articulate 360 software is used as the source for developing courses. It includes the option to publish a course as a SCORM package, which is a set of files that can run and be tracked in an LMS.

Articulate software doesn't work in reverse. In other words, it doesn't take a SCORM package and turn it into a Rise project or Storyline file. That would be the like asking someone to turn printed pages back into a Word document.

There are companies/coders who can combine multiple SCORM packages into one big package, with an opening page that lets the user pick which one to complete—for example, based on language. Unfortunately, I don't have recommendations for who does that.

If you have a SCORM package and want to be able to edit and re-publish the content, you'll have to re-create the course in Rise or Storyline. You can reuse assets from the SCORM package to do that.

If you don't need to make edits to the content, you probably can just keep the SCORM package as is and upload to the LMS (I assume Easy Generator has an output that allows that).

If you need to rebuild the course to make edits, then you would need to copy your content into either Rise or Storyline. If you do end up trying that, feel free to DM me and send me an example EG course (small one) and I'll see what I'd do to build that in one of the Articulate tools.
