 Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, enthusiastic and seasoned professional who is interested in being at the forefront of change. The instructional designer will be a key player in the success of Versant transforming the profession of nursing, serving as a functional lead in the development and support of competency-driven courses and specialized educational programs. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. 

The successful candidate will enjoy the opportunity to work remotely as a part of Versant’s nationally distributed, virtual organization, in close collaboration with a diverse, talented, and passionate team of professionals. Working with the software development team, the instructional designer will furnish critical expertise during all phases of the educational project life cycle, including needs analysis, instructional design, content development, delivery, and formative and summative evaluation activities. 

Primary responsibilities include:

Manage instructional development process, set standards for Versant staff and customers in designing curriculum and instruction, developing learning resources, and retooling courses and course segments to optimize electronic delivery of content. 

Mentor Versant Education & Curriculum (E&C) members in instructional design methods and occasionally teach on-site for client organizations, proctoring, coaching, and evaluating educational materials. 

Job Requirements

Required

o Master's degree in instructional technology, education, information technology, curriculum design or related field

o Three to five years of experience in course design, curriculum design, and e-learning, preferably in higher education or corporate environment. Experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and Web site design software

o Familiar with e-learning technology capabilities, software development processes and technical and design specifications required for delivery on mobile devices. (smart phones, tablets, etc.)

Preferred

o Doctorate in instructional technology, education, information technology, curriculum design or related field

o Five to seven years of experience in course design, curriculum design and e-learning, preferably in higher education; experience with online course management tools

Substantial travel, with up to 80 per cent required at times, including occasional weekends

Salary is competitive and based on experience.
