Just for fun...
Mar 15, 2014
I came across a new word (for me, anyway) while reading an editorial piece this morning, and I'd like to share it with the group, since it's one of those words that is "just fun" and can be used in context with our work.
The word, which describes SMEs or Subject Matter Experts is:
co·gno·scen·te
noun \ˌkän-yə-ˈshen-tē, ˌkäg-nə-, -ˈsen-\
plural co·gno·scen·ti \-tē\
Definition of COGNOSCENTE
: a person who has expert knowledge in a subject
Enjoy!

And so we learn something new every day...
I'm usually happy if people understand the meaning, the real meaning, of Subject Matter Expert... not sure if this will help
Lovely, always like to surprise people when I throw in a word like this.
Subject Matter Expert is shortened to SME.
Maybe COGSE would be an interesting alternative.
Thanks for the new word Dave.
