Large Zip Files
Dec 23, 2013
I am needing to upload zip files to an online server for users to download. My problem is that some of my files are bigger than the alloted size limit.
I am thinking there is no way you break up the zip file on a course. Are there any other alternatives that someone can think of.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Alex

You need FTP access to your server or get the limit realised
Unfortunately, unable to do either. Greatly appreciate it, Phil. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
You could either reduce the quality of the published file to reduce the size. Or depending on the system you could upload the individual files.
What is your limit? What system are you using?
I'm not sure of the size of your large files, but hightail (formerly yousendit) allows users to send zip files up to 2GB. It came in handy for me before having FTP access to send files to a server.
Wait, I now see you need to send them to a specific server...it does sound like reducing the file size may be your only option if FTP isn't allowed.
