Navigating a quiz or test

Dec 10, 2012

I would like to know if it is possible to give students the ability to flag or mark questions of interest that they would like to review again before completing their quiz or test.  Then, if this is possible I would like to give the students three possible choices prior to submitting their quiz or test: review all question (they could freely navigate through the questions again), review only flagged questions, or submit.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ray!

Are you using Articulate Storyline? Or Articulate Quizmaker?

With Quizmaker, it's not currently possible to do this.

In Storyline, it's possible, but it would require using some variables and triggers, since the behavior you're looking for is a bit different than the way quizzes behave by default. I worked up a quick sample for you and attached it below. It has just 3 questions in it, and each has a "flag" checkmark that the learner could mark. If you have Storyline, go ahead and preview the file - I think it will give you the kind of output you have in mind. Also here's a screencast that shows how the file behaves, and some highlights of how I built it:

Does that help?

Jeanette,

Thank you for the quick response; your example is exactly what I was looking for.  I have used Moodle's built-in ability in the past to give the option for students to flag questions, but was unsure of Stroyline's ability to provide the effect.  Although it may be slightly labor intensive, I think that the student's will appreciate it.

     Thank you again,

     Ray
