I was wondering if anyone out there has a good recommendation for a web-based Project Management tool. We are looking to spend around $500/year and need to have up to 10 users to keep track of all our ISD/eLearning projects plus video production work that we do.
There are two solutions that I'd like to call 'sort of' project management tools, with mostly basic features...
A) A small standalone application called ClientEngage , which could be a nice solution for you. Very simple, quite fast, with notifications. (Price : 25$)
B) If you use Joomla for your CMS/website needs, ProjectFork might help. This one integrates directly with a Joomla website so you have SSO right out of the box. (Open Source / Price : Free / Optional Paid Plugins available)
These are mostly self hosted solutions, and also well below the budget you are willing to spend.
You can use ProofHub (www.proofhub.com), a web based project management software. It has got some amazing features like proofing tool, casper mode, to-do list, timesheet, allows uploading of files even from google drive and dropbox, proofing tool, in built chat and many more. In this you can add multiple people to a single project, assign tasks to them, set timeline, proof read various types of documents and keep them in an organised manner. Thus you can manage and keep track of all your ISD/eLearning projects plus video production work that you do.
I am freelancer and I have tried many web based project management tools like basecamp, zoho, podio, proofhub. All these have similar features like to-do list, milestones, timesheet, file section etc. I stuck with proofhub as it provides proofing tool and it is very easy to use. You can go for a life time free plan if you have only one project to manage with no restriction on number of users. So go through all the available alternatives and choose the one which best suits your need.

I am freelancer and I have tried many web based project management tools like basecamp, zoho, podio, proofhub. All these have similar features like to-do list, milestones, timesheet, file section etc. I stuck with proofhub as it provides proofing tool and it is very easy to use. You can go for a life time free plan if you have only one project to manage with no restriction on number of users. So go through all the available alternatives and choose the one which best suits your need.
For project management, I have been using Replicon software to organize and schedule various tasks of my employees and create reports. If you want any software that can keep track of the status of your ongoing tasks. With really innovative features, this time management software can do a lot of good for any business.
Having a good project management software would enable our employees to check the progress of ongoing projects and coordinate effectively to achieve our organizational goals. It also helps to boost our personal productivity too. According to me, this application can be best for project and time management.
We use Trello (www.trello.com) a lot. It is scrum-based, which is a nice change of pace for e-learning. Won't work for all projects, probably, but does wonders when it really clicks.
P.S. It's almost as using post-its, only they don't fall off after 6 months
