Random Number Generator Conflict
Jan 30, 2019
Hi, I have this Slide i need to do where a Learner is presented with a Random Number Generator, between 1 and 5.
I have managed to Get the Java Script to give me 5 instances of a Random Number between 1and 5. But what i need now, is how do i set it so that there are NO Conflicting Numbers.
For instance I cannot have Multiple "4" they need to all fall in line to Generate
1 2 3 4 5. In random order.
File attached, could someone just explain what i need to do.
Thanks.

I have an older version of Storyline so was not able to open your file. Also, I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to accomplish.
It sound like you might look into JavaScript to create an array, and some sorting options, but hard to offer better advice without knowing more.
yes, i am on storyline 360, I got as far as generating each block with a random number.
but im not sure how to do the sorting part once generated
I think it would be better to use javascript to pull 5 separate variables that do not repeat and use those.
This seems to work https://360.articulate.com/review/content/d7a843db-91cc-453e-ae38-16eb74399339/review
Phil Mayor! thank you so much! this is exactly what i needed, and have already implemented it.
my Variables were all over the place, thank you so much for the help!
Glad that worked, TBH I didn't look at your file until after I posted and then realised it was a perfect fit for what you needed, more luck than judgement
and I also have to be honest I never thought of using Owens method which is really quite an elegant solution
