responsive audio testing

Jul 13, 2018

For a course I am developing, during the final student exam, we would like the student to provide an audio or video of how they would respond to certain situations.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? I currently use Storyline 3 and would prefer to stick with it.

I can't think of any way to achieve this within Storyline; it's more likely something that can be done using an LMS. If you don't have an LMS, might I suggest that your students record an audio/video using their smart phone or other device and send the resulting file by email to an address indicated on your Storyline course? The student could indicate that this has been done by clicking a submit button or equivalent (although that would be slightly unnecessary if the email is received by you). It does mean that the student submission and feedback is conducted 'outside' the course so there's no way to automatically provide feedback on the submission using Storyline  ....... unless another Hero knows something I don't!!

Hi, Nancy: This is likely more a functionality that an learning management system would provide. I know Litmos provides such a functionality.

Having students send files to your email is going to cause problems, especially if you have say more than 10 students. (file size) What most teachers is create a Google Account, and then share a Google Drive folder with students and have them upload their stuff there.

Be prepared, of course, to deal with the "I CAN'T UPLOAD MY FILE -- HELP!!!" messages from your darlings.
