I am trying to change my list of scenes from untitlesd to respective of the main slide in each scene...how do I change the name of the scene so that it shows appropriately in the scene list?
It's really easy. When you're in story view, right click on the scene you want to rename (the whole scene will be outlined), drop down to "rename" and voila - the existing scene name will then become hightlighted for you to change.
Yeah but if you change/rename a slide in the story view, then that action doesn't update the title of your slide. How can you change the title of a slide in story view/ slide thumbnail view and still updating the title of your slide?
Double clicking the "Untitled Slide" in the Base Layer will let you change it wherever a trigger calls up that slide. Also will change that in the Story View.
Right, but still won't update the title in the slide.
Angela - do you mean the slide title in the left menu isn't updating? Did you rename your slides from the Player Properties > Menu window? Or did you only name slides from the slide level?
Jesse's solution works for me every time. I never use the menu to rename the slide because this doesnt carry across to the slides (I can understand why this is and support this).
My guess is that slide titles were customized from the Player Properties.
When I did a lot of compliance training, I ran into projects that required the slide title to include the legal, statute name while allowing less formal titles to be used in the course menu. Presenter '09's slide properties made that really easy. That's also how Storyline works in the menu properties.
Agreed that, when possible, managing the slide titles at the slide level is most desirable... But, I appreciate the option to go either way.
This is a variation of the question. Is it possible to have a slide without a title? I have a couple of question slides, where I have a picture and a question, but adding a title feels redundent
In that instance, I usually just number the slide something abbreviative like Q1 for question 1. I don't think its possible to not have a slide named something.
In that sort of example I would probably give the slide itself some sort of nominal Title, however, I would probably hide it from the main menu. You can do this in the "Menu" section of the "Player" Tab.

You can also just double click the word 'Untitled.' Saves a step. Brings open a cursor so you can enter text.

Quick overview of how to reset slide titles.

Hi Ken, and welcome to the Heroes Community.
