training demo in WebEx - how to handle audio

Mar 18, 2013

I apologize if I am taking this far afield, but, for me, mine is a better course if I can conduct walk throughs with a distributed workforce through the company online meeting tool - WebEx.

I'd like it if remote coworkers could hear the audio portion of the CBT in a way other than this: "everyone on the phone, CAN YOU HEAR THE AUDIO?"

Are we out of luck or can the audio go out thru WebEx?

The host of this meeting is not me. (I'll be an attendee someone passes the ball to.)

Hi Kelly, I don't think what you want to do is possible. I used to use Go to Meeting a lot to try and show prospects samples of our work at Pinched Head but gave up because there was no way to transmit the audio from the courses. We looked at some alternative products and could not find anything that could send the audio ( mind you we did not do an exhaustive search by any means).  We also asked Go to Meeting at the time (this was probably 3 years ago) if they were planning on supporting this feature and the told us it was in the works but I don't know if they ever implemented it.

Hi Kelly,

i'm somewhat of a Webex pro. Sharing audio is possible in Webex but only thru each user's computer which means they have to have computer or monitor speakers or a headset plugged in and on so the sound will trasmit thru voip. It's not possible to share the audio thru the phone or thru webex audio. I'm praying webex adds this feature for the phone bridge one day!

you're onlu other workaround is to play the audio from your cumputer and have you're phone or microphone close to the speakers... Not the best option but can work.

hope it helps!
