Upgade my Audio Recording

I am looking to upgrade the quality of our voiceovers, I already have a good idea of what I am looking for but wanted to know if anyone has found a great package that has made a big difference to them.

Better mic but uses firewire ;-(

This will probably be tied to a laptop and being able to record in different ways would be great and a studio in a box would be great so make life easier, so if you have any ideas, thoughts etc then let me know!
