Audio file plays in preview, but not in Review360 or the LMS via SCORM 1.2
Hi All,
This is driving me crazy and it's absolutely hindering my ability to publish eLearning content for my organization. I never had a problem with this until the past two months, and all other online training we receive from a vendor (including ones built in Storyline) work just fine.
I am publishing a course, as I have always done and adding voiceover tracks to narrate the material, but they aren't all consistently playing. Some slides will play, then some slides will be silent, and then it'll start back up again. When clicking "Previous" or going back a slide, the audio will decide to play.
I can't figure out why this is happening and it's severely impacting my productivity.
Any ideas? I see the one similar comment from a year ago about adding a play button, but this issue just started and I am wondering if some setting might be causing it.
Thanks!

Hi ToddDouglass-5c! This sounds frustrating! I'm so glad you've connected with my teammate, Enelluar, in a support case on this behavior. If you have any additional questions, you can continue to connect with him in your support case!

Hi - I am having a similar issue. When in Review, if I click the Feedback button to leave a comment, I still hear the audio. When I return to the slide, the audio is silent but the rest of the items like highlights of graphic changes are playing. If I replay the slide or go to another, the audio is fine. For me, it only seems to happen when Feedback is clicked. This was never an issue before. I have checked with several teammates and have gone back to course published several months ago and now it is everywhere.
Hi DKlugh,
Sorry to hear you and your team have been struggling with audio playback in Review 360.
I tested a sample Storyline project, published to Review 360 using Google Chrome. However, accessing the Feedback panel did not interrupt the audio from my Slide. Here's a quick screen recording of my testing!
Are you experiencing this behavior with all supported browsers, or is it local to one? Also, does this issue only occur with one specific .story file, or is it widespread across several? If it's just one course, we'd be happy to take a closer look. Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

I'm experiencing this issue as well and it is incredibly frustrating. I exported all the TTS and reinserted as MP3. I added trigger to start audio, I've removed the trigger to start audio. I've publish 13 different versions trying to troubleshoot with no resolution. This is both Edge and Chrome. It works fine when previewing the slides/scene, it works fine when I "view course" in Reach, but when it is assigned to learners the audio intermittently disappears.
Hi PGallup,
Sorry to hear that your learners are facing audio playback issues in Reach 360.
I see that you've already opened a support case that's been received by our Distribution support team. They should be following up with you shortly to start troubleshooting.
We can continue the conversation through your case!

Hi Steven, I haven't had any contact about my ticket. I thought I had resolved it and assigned to personnel, but there are still audio issues

Has anyone found a resolution to this issue? My situation may be slightly different in that the voiceover plays the first time through, but does not when the slide is revisited. All other animations on the slide work on the revisit, just not the VO. This happens on random slides. Just started having this issue with the latest course that I am developing.
Hello BarryHollembeak,
I understand you’re experiencing similar behavior where the voiceover plays normally the first time through, but when revisiting the slide, only the animations play, and the audio no longer works. Since this is happening randomly in your Storyline project, I'd like to learn more to help narrow it down!
- What are your slide revisit settings set to on the affected slides?
- Do you have any triggers associated with the voiceover audio?
- Are you seeing this in Preview, Review 360, LMS output, or all three?
As a troubleshooting step, I recommend importing your existing slides into a new .story file to see if that changes the revisit experience when publishing.
If you're still running into this issue, we'd be happy to take a closer look at your project within a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for reaching out,
To your questions:
What are your slide revisit settings set to on the affected slides? All slides except for the Quiz slides are set to "Reset to initial state."
- Do you have any triggers associated with the voiceover audio? There are no triggers. I tried adding triggers, but still did not work.
- Are you seeing this in Preview, Review 360, LMS output, or all three? I do not see this in Preview - only when published either to Review 360 or to the LMS.
I tried importing the slides into a new project before, but it did not make any difference. I just now did the uninstall/reinstall and delete user files thing, and then did a new import, and the project seems to work in Review 360. My client will upload and test it in their LMS. I will keep you informed of the results.
