Base layer playing while editing another layer

Hello HoneyTurner,
Sorry about the picture. If you right-click on it and open the image in a new tab, depending on your browser it should load a full-sized image for you.
I do find it strange that we're getting different behavior after testing the same project file. As a troubleshooting step, please try repairing your Storyline 360 installation to fix the problem. If the issue persists, please make a quick Peek 360 recording so I can test it more accurately using your steps.
Hi Luciana,
Thanks for your video presentation. I saw almost right away something that made your sample different than my working files. Most of mine use a video as the base and layer on extra components. So, I made a test file that shows the impact of having a video on each layer vs using text to speech. And it confirmed, it plays audio from the base layer only if it's from a video.
Hello HoneyTurner,
Thanks for sharing a copy of your project file.
To prevent the base layer audio from playing when you preview the layer timeline, you can enable this option in the Slide Layer Properties so that the base layer is paused when the slide layer is previewed.
Let me know if this works for you!

Thanks JoseTansengco,
I can't get your pic to zoom, so I hope I understood correctly.
If I am on slide 1.2 or 1.3 and set Brian's Slide Layer Properties to have "Pause timeline of base layer" checked, it's still playing both Brian and Danielle when I hit the play button on Brian's timeline.

I'll have to wait to get IT to work on the repair with me, but I'm pretty sure I've seen this same behaviour since the beginning, which includes 2 different computers and a repair on the first one.
In the meantime, I've uploaded the video to show what I'm doing. You should only be able to hear one voice when playing the Brian layer. But, you can hear both voices (his and hers)
