When you say the variables are broken, what do you mean? Are they not showing the correct value, or are the triggers not affecting them?
If you can share the .story file either here or privately through a case, we're happy to help you investigate what's going on.
What I'm finding is that existing variables, along with their triggers, are not functioning as designed. What I am currently doing is deleting them and identically remaking them...suddenly they work. There is no reason that should occur, but this isn't the first time that fix worked for me either. If you have any insight as to why I should need to do this, I would appreciate it. Perhaps it's something on my end with my system, but that far outside of my wheelhouse.
